One Day Workshop 4 June

Our next One Day Workshop is on June 4, 2017, from 9am – 4pm. This workshop provides an introduction to zen practice. Suitable for beginners and also experienced practitioners. Join us for an enjoyable day with a delicious vegetarian lunch provided. Apply online. Only a few places remain.

Foundation Day 2017

On this coming Sunday 7 May, we will be celebrating our Foundation Day, with a Special Sanzen-kai and Annual Community Event from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Instruction for newcomers starts at 9.15 am with meditation commencing at 9.25am. We will have a silent auction to raise funds for the Jikishoan Building Fund, pot-luck lunch commencing at 12.30pm (so please bring your best dish!) and entertainment from 1.30pm.

** Please note that there will be no evening Sanzenkai.


Sanzenkai over the Easter period

Please note that due to the April retreat there will be no Sanzenkai on Thursday 13, Sunday 16 or Thursday 20 April.

March 2017 Myoju Now Available Online

This issue introduces the theme Dreams and Visions, with a focus on purity, or practice. In it, we celebrate the expression of Ekai Osho’s dream: the creation of a new Zendo for the practice and teaching of Zen Buddhism in Melbourne.

We will be holding our Annual Sangha picnic this Sunday 5 March. Sanzenkai will not be held on this date.

New Main Course A starting in April

Main Course A (MCA) is a vital base where transformative learning, experience and cultivation takes place.

Term 2, 2017 commences on Saturday, April 22 for A1 and A2 and on Wednesday, April 26 for A3.

Jikishoan Annual Sangha Picnic Sunday 5 March

Members, partners, children, family and friends of Jikishoan are invited to the Jikishoan 2017 Annual Sangha Day Picnic.

Bring food and drinks to share. Enjoy the company, the conversation, the park, and the day!

Where: Darebin Parklands, Melways Map 31. C9. Take Grange Rd. Alphington and enter via Separation Street.

When: Sunday 5 March ** Note: There will be NO Sunday Sanzenkai

Time: 12 pm – 3pm

Facilities: shelter, benches tables, public toilets, gas BBQ’s

BYO Chairs for comfort and/or picnic blankets.
