Annual General Meeting

Sunday 10 September 2017, 7pm. Jikishoan Zen Buddhist Community Inc. is holding its 19th Annual General Meeting immediately after the Sunday Sanzenkai Service.  Members, IBS Students and Friends are warmly invited to attend. Dinner will be Potluck – please bring a plate of food to share. No Sanzenkai this week

There will be no Sanzenkai this Sunday 20 August or Thursday 24 August due to the August retreat. Sanzenkai will resume as of Sunday 27 and Thursday 31 August, respectively. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Celebration for the life of Nuala Cassidy

One of Jikishoan’s early members, Nuala Isshin Cassidy, died on 7th April

Her husband, Brian Doyle, and his daughters Finola and Meagan, have invited friends and colleagues of Nuala’s to a celebration of her life.

This will be held at Elwood Learning Centre, 87 Tennyson St, Elwood, on Sunday July 16th from 1:15 – 4:15 pm.

Winter Teaching at Kagyu Evam Buddhist Institute

Each year, Ekai Osho teaches at Kagyu Evan Buddhist Institute in July. This year, he will be teaching on:

Your Very Mind is Buddha (Soku Shin Ze Butsu)

In this chapter of Shobogenzo, Zen Master Dogen makes clear that the saying Your very mind is Buddha is addressed to one who has already given rise to the intention to train and reach Buddhahood. Ekai Osho will address that mind in this series of talks at E-Vam Institute on Friday nights in July.
