The following is an excerpt from this issue:

It is close to equinox. This is a time when day and night come into balance and the weather becomes quite even, even in Melbourne!

So this is a good time to practice. ‘Good time’ means that it is a good environment for practice – we have a very supportive environment to assist our body and mind to settle.

Settling into a natural balance is a practice; it is the practice of returning. There are many ways to describe practice. Zazen, or the practice of Zen meditation, is basically settling, settling down to this place, into the natural balance. It is not like settling, settling, settling – reaching a point and then becoming frozen… (Continued on page 1.)
